Korto Momolu: Turning Defeat into A New York Fashion Week Win

I’ve been a huge fan of designer Korto Momolu since Season 5 of Project Runway. The three-time show runner-up and mom has the type of tenacity that inspires others to go after their dream. This independent designer has been too busy working on her collections, outfitting heads of state and signing deals with national retail chains to worry about coming in second place.  She is an amazing role model for everyone who has every suffered a business setback and wondered if they should keep going. Sometimes our biggest successes are right around the corner of our biggest defeats.

Successful is how I’d describe the show that Korto put on at Studio 450 during New Your Fashion Week. Her vibrant and stylist clothes had a air of satisfaction and sophistication. From the pops of sea blue to tangerine, her line felt cohesive, fun and full of longevity. I’m looking forward to seeing more from this shrewd business women for years to come.
