14 Nov In the News: Young Entrepreneur’s Hustle Pays off for Everyone
I’ve always loved being called a “hustler.” It must be the NYC in me. Where I grew up (Harlem girl) it was a compliment and said with adornment. Hearing the phrase, “you’re such a hustler” was the equivalent of hearing “you can do anything.” There was absolutely no negativity associated with the word. Having a hustler’s mentality meant I was expected to take advantage of every opportunity that I crossed my path. And, to see the opportunities that other missed.
Every entrepreneur I talk to has a hustler’s mentality. Some are more strategic than others, some have more raw experiences to draw from, but all have identified opportunities worth exploring. Having an hustler’s mentality doesn’t mean all these entrepreneurs will succeed. It just makes them brave enough to try. And, with unemployment rate at 14% in some communities, we need more of them.
ART IN Fact Magazine most recent issue is dedicated to the hustlers in our nation making positive changes. Check it out. Its topics are thoughtful and skillfully written. And, the Mag places entrepreneurship front and center. This could be because its editors are dedicated to “bring(ing) out the characters, ideas, and events that you probably haven’t heard of—yet.” So, if you want to be inspired to get your hustle on…this mag is worth the read.
